SolarPark™ Energy was created in 2015 as a result of the New York State Public Service Commission approval of Community Distributed Generation or CDG. Prior to this approval, a consumer could only gain the benefits of solar by installing solar panels on their home or property. Tom Guzek, an entrepreneur in renewable energy and his group of seasoned renewable energy investors saw a great new opportunity and created  SolarPark™ Energy , a Community Solar Development company focused solely on developing and operating CDG projects in Western, Central and Upstate New York. With the initiation of SolarPark™ Energy, thousands of consumers and businesses are able to gain access to the benefits of solar energy by simply electing to convert from their current utility providing ugly fossil based “brown energy” to the ultra-clean solar energy provided by the SolarParks™ constructed to generate power in a specific area and fed into the existing electrical grid. SolarPark™ Energy plans to construct over 50 SolarParks™ throughout New York State over the next 3 years, generating 100 Megawatts of power, or enough energy to supply 15,000 homes, apartments and small businesses. This will positively impact the environment by reducing CO₂ gas emissions generated by coal or natural gas power plants throughout New York State by over 5,120,000 tons per year. That is the equivalent of removing the emissions of over 1,100,000 cars and trucks from the highways of New York State annually.
